JOB DESCRIPTION
Sussex Plumbing Supplies, as the name suggests, are an independent plumbing merchant with 5 trade branches in Sussex. They had out-grown their previous Bexhill branch and were now looking to move to a larger premises with enough space to offer a retail showroom for members of the public to utilise.
They chose an old factory warehouse, close to the main road on the industrial estate on Beeching Road, Bexhill-on-Sea, East Sussex, TN39 3LG
TAYLOR CONSTRUCTION’S ROLE
Sussex Plumbing Supplies tasked Taylor Construction with taking care of the entire project from start to finish on a tight deadline of just 4 months.
The job consisted of three distinct parts…
Internal demolition
The inside of the factory was in a poor state of repair. The costs of trying to ‘put right’ what was already there would have exceeded the cost of starting from scratch and would have compromised the overall finished effect that Sussex Plumbing Supplies desired.
The decision was taken that Taylor Construction would strip the inside of the property back entirely and rebuild to the exact requirements of the customer.
Internal Build and Decoration
The beauty of starting with an empty shell, is that the internal layout can be designed to the specific requirements of the client. The layout consisted of a main trade counter with product displays behind, office space, toilets, kitchen area and storage for thousands of products and spare parts.
External repairs and new glass front
The front of the whole factory needed removing and in its place, a large area of glazing was installed to show off the showroom facility. New roofing was installed along with roof lights and brick repairs.
Taylor Construction took care of every aspect of the building work, utilising full time employees as well as hand picked sub contractors in specific trades. The project ran smoothly, on schedule and within budget.
Sussex Plumbing Supplies were delighted with the finished product and have since used us for the construction of their flagship showroom in Polegate.
